AN INDOOR FLEA MARKET! Every weekend artists, designers and vintage collectors pop up shop in this large warehouse in Williamsburg to create Artists & Fleas. When I went last Sunday, these were a few vendors that caught my eye:
Gypsy Nation Vintage: Perhaps it’s because I’m obsessed with brightly colored embroidered textiles from Thailand, Mexico and South America that I’m in love with this vendor. But I also found it to be the most unique of the several vintage clothing booths in the space. Their vibrant, eclectic, bohemian, worldly fabrics certainly caught my eye.
juli raja hand built: Juli learned the art of hand weaving and block printing fabrics in India from her mother and father in-law. Her men’s and kids’ button-up shirts are adorable—especially the cupcake design.
Speaking of cupcakes, there are food vendors too! Le Petit Cupcakery was there, but sold out before I could get my hands on one.
Webbedware: Courtney Webb combines sleek design with vintage fabrics to create her beautiful cuffs and earrings.
Another Work in Progress: These handmade journals and sketchbooks are fun—especially the ones made out of vintage board games.
